Chapter 1...

... is here!

If you'd like to know where the idea for the story came from, watch this interview of singer James Blunt by Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson. After 5 mins 50 secs of very funny chat about music and cars and tanks, there's the little gem that had me reaching for my notebook...

Lucy,

I said it on the iheartpresents site, but I wanted to say it here as well. AWESOME CHAPTER. Great job. Looking forward to seeing the book in print.

Now to check out the interview you have linked . . .

Isn't amazing where ideas come from? People think I am crazy because I read every little flyer that is sent to us, but you find the greatest things in the craziest places.

I got the idea for my NaNoWriMo story from an alumni magazine.

Way to go, Lucy.

Loved the chapter. Can't wait to read the rest of the book.

Am so glad you like the chapter!

And you're right, it is extraordinary where ideas can come from. Not crazy at all! I reckon that you can train yourself to pick things up. What do you think?

Like Suzanne I want to read the rest of the book! I really enjoyed reading the chapter on ihearts.

I think the trick re. ideas is to always have a pen and paper handy. There's nothing worse than having an idea and not being able to write it down...

Good luck with finishing it off and whatever revisions they want you to do.

Fantastic chapter, Lucy! I'm sure you'll get this published.

Ideas are funny things. I usually have a great idea for a beginning and then...somehow it gets bogged down and complicated halfway through. Sigh.

Even my husband managed to read it (his reading habits veer more towards military history/political biography) and said he wanted to find out what happens next!!
