A conference and a review

This afternoon marks the start of 'Las 3ª Jornadas sobre Novela Romántica', a mini conference on the romantic novel being held in the Alcázar in Seville. As I live about an hour south of Seville I thought I might check it out.

And if that wasn't exciting enough, Bought: Damsel in Distress has had a review! From Caro (clearly a woman of great insight and exceptional taste) on the Mills & Boon community site:

'The best of the August-by-mail, October-in-the-shops bunch I think. Lucy King won the 'Feel the Heat' competition with this submission and the editors picked a good one here. I hope she keeps up such an excellent standard in future books and she is one to watch. The premise is very unusual and I look forward to her plot devices to come.'

Well, that's made my week.

I'd be glad to second that. I read this book a couple of weeks ago and it really is a fantastic read. Such a straight forward simple story yet the conflict and characters make it the kind of book you know you're going to go back and read again. Often. The writing itself was wonderful Lucy and I just adored Luke. Emily and her sister were so funny together, Emily alone was a great heroine and the sex scenes were blazing hot. Your debut makes it crystal clear to understand why you won that competition.

I can't wait for the next one, I'm sure it will be equally entertaining.

All the best,
Aideen.
