Wohoo - just read it! And as Kate Hardy said, you've still got so many more exciting firsts to come :)

Hi Lucy!

Just wanted to say great post. I found it very entertaining particularly since I LOVE the premise of your first book and can't imagine anyone doubting it lol!

Thanks, everyone. I thought about giving some tips too, but didn't have any.

Am in a strange sort of limbo-land at the moment, where I've written only one book and even that hasn't come out yet, so I have no idea how it will be received.

Until I nail the next couple, I'll still be convinced that the first one was a fluke!

I really enjoyed your ihearts post Lucy.
Sorry, I didn't realise you hadn't seen your cover yet, perhaps it hasn't been finalised yet and they were using a mock-up in the conference talk???

WHAT???? There's mock-up??? Of my cover??? You've seen it??? At the conference talk??? How? What's it like? And how do I get to see a copy, I wonder...?

Um yes, did you not see the comment I left on your last post (someone else non-writery has left one too, after me)?

In the RNA M&B conference talk you were used as an example of 'how to get it right' and they put your cover up on the overhead projector :-)
It's fab - and you can see Big Ben out of the window in the room the H&h are in.

Time to be a diva I think, get on that phone or get an email out!

Goodness, yes, so sorry. Comments normally get sent through to my email but yours didn't, nor the non-writerly one either.

I was used as an example of how to get it right?? And Big Ben? Oh my goodness. I wish I'd been at the conference!!

Have already sent an email (hope they don't reply demanding my current wip -now six weeks late - RIGHT NOW.)

Loved your post, Lucy.

And there's a lot of goodwill out here for you and your book - of course it's going to be well recieved. As will the second and the third and...
